Manhattan’s financial district is on the south side of the island, known for its high buildings where you will find Wall Street as the most famous place and where you can find Battery Park which is where you take the ferry to Ellis Island (Statue of Liberty).
Wall Street is the main street in the financial district of New York. The most popular buildings in this area are: The New York Stock Exchange, built at the turn of the 20th Century although in a classic style, and Federal Hall, constructed at the end of the 18th Century in a neo-gothic style. The bull of Wall Street is located in front of the National Museum of the American Indian. Nearby you will find ground zero, where the Twin Towers were located and the new Freedom Tower which has the recently inaugurated 9-11 museum.
